Color of a PN or Barbaresco, A bit pruny on the nose, with stewed fruit, faint earth and underbrush. Lively fruit on the palate, bright red, lip-smacking finish. Too small a bottle. 12.5% alc/vol and about $10. With tamales in cheese sauce, Spanish rice, refried beans. Good QPR.

Good choice with tamales. Old Vine Garnacha works well for a pairing, too. This is quite old for a Crianza, so I'm surprised it held up this well. Sounds like a nice Tueday evening! Reservas from '96 are drinking very well right now, BTW.

It's amazing how nice wines always feel like 500mL bottles and not so great stuff feel like 1L bottles.

Haven't seen any Reservas locally in over a year. Still lookin'.
