Thought this might be of interest to Brappy and others.
Friends of mine own Zely & Ritz Restaurant in Raleigh. Nancy is responsible for their wine list and has earned Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for several years. Her husband Sarig is the chef. They already carried several inexpensive Spanish wines which are quite pleasant.
They have recently added to their wine list the following:

2004 Numanthia-Termes, Tempranillo from Toro @ $91
2003 Val LLach Idus, Priorat @ $92
2001 Ramirez de Ganuza, Rioja @ $112
2003 Bodegas El Nido Clio, Jumilla @ $69

Great choices. She must be tasting quite a bit of wine. All of those wines are the "New" world style. And I believe all imported by Ordonez. I have 1 '02 clio and a 6-pack of '03s. Its the oposite blend of the "El Nido". 70% Mouvedre, 30% Cab. Great juice.

Thanks Wonders,

mark

I agree -- nice choices in a "new world" style. I always have the Numanthia lineup in my cellar (including the '04, which I haven't tried yet). Also have the '02 and '03 Clio. Seems to me like that's the Ganuza I have in the cellar, but the sheet is at home. I did have a 95 or 96 Ganuza a few years ago that was wonderful, though it did show a different style than the more current ones.
