2000 Vina Sastre Tinto, Roble, Ribera del Duero, DDO ($12 Blue Hill Wine Shop). Very refreshing wine. Gives you a nice dose of red cherries on the nose and upfront. More fruit and vanilla coming from seven months in two year old American (read Virginia) oak, nice complexity, and smooth tannin without sediment cross the palate. A refreshing and long finish.

Matched with grillpanned extra thick pork chops and sliced Early Girl tomatoes with thinly sliced buffalo mozzarella on them, drizzled with vinaigrette. The wine with the acid went better with the tomatoes than the pork chops. Everything was very nice though.
