In spite of a head-cold, needed something worthy of her spinach enchiladas. The only one of this in the cellar, probably purchased at Sam's Club a few years ago for $10 or so (no record in the database). Not so dark a red, slight bricking at the rim; nose seems right but my sniffer is impaired; good fruit up front, tannins OK, juicy on the palate with a lip-smacking finish. Wish I had more. 13% alc/vol.

Bricking? WW used that term a few days ago. It's a new one to me.

It means a slight browning of the wine, going from its normal ruby red to slightly brown where it meets the glass. Indicates the wine is showing its age.

That's pretty good, a 10-yr old, $10 Crianza still keepin'-on. Good to know, as I've got a couple or three '99 Crianzas that have been good little orphans for a few years now.

Dan, would let those '99s sleep for a while yet. Wouldn't be in a hurry to disturb 'em.
