From the Navarra DO, this is a blend of 40% CS, 40% Merlot and 20% Tempranillo. Violated my summer hiatus on wine purchases to try this newbie at Sam's Club, and was pleasantly surprised by its complexity, quite like a last-growth Bordeaux, maybe a Saint Emilion Puisseguin; no sign of heat damage. About $10 and 13% alc/vol.

Have somehow ripped through a case of this stuff since July, paired variously with barbecued brisket, grilled burgers, smoked venison sausage and D's Mexican casserole (ground beef, onion, green pepper, tomato, dunno what else.... on a bed of tortillas and baked). Actual price paid was $8.32. Now classed as a household staple that needs to be on hand. Off to find more tomorrow, before or after a visit to the gym (burp).
