Purchased at Sam's Club in Jan '99 for $8.99; took to a gathering of our church small group tonight to pair with beef & chicken fajitas.

Cork was soft, indicating trouble. Sure enough, only half came out with the corkscrew and had to dig out the remainder with a knife, then use a coffee filter to remove debris. Even so, it was WORTH IT! Browning but unspoiled, fruit still evident, delightful mouthfeel and long finish.... everyone's WOTN. 12.5% alc/vol. Have a '95 and '98 still sleeping.

This was the regular, HW? Not the Riserva? I'm surprised it held together that long!

It was indeed the regular bottling. I was as surprised as you.... but not complaining.
