2000 Bodegas Nekeas, Cabernet Sauvignon 60%-Tempranillo 40%, Navarra, Vega Sindoa ($9.99 local super). Alcohol 13.5%. Great bargain. Lovely combo of red and black fruit on the nose and upfront. A little cinnamon in the better than average complexity crossing the palate, along with chewy tannin. The finish went on longer than anticipated.

Matched with something called top sirloin steak strips. There were two about a foot long, two inches wide, and one and half inches thick. Cost $5.38 for 1.62 lbs. Rubbed with EVOO and sprinkled with Morton Rub and grillpanned for six minutes on a side. Served with leftover mushroom sauce, and green beans almondine. Simply wonderful.
