Somewhat aged nose on this one with citrus fruits and some wood. Reserved palate at first but after about an hour this teenager opened up to show its stuff. Great fruit, again citrus, touch of wood. Great mouthfeel and plenty of stuffing in the center. Finish isn't quite as long as I'd like but at 8 years, I'm still impressed.

Oh, and the color; Still straw colored. This one is not facing any risk of falling apart. At least not yet.

It always interests me to taste Sauv Blancs with a bit of age on them. This one I picked up while fishing for wine. The cost: $8. It's done the job, which is bring me pleasure at the end of a long week.

I had to Google to see that it is a Napa wine. The French-sounding name had me thinking it might be from Sancerre (although most of the Sancerre producers don't use "Chateau" in the name). It must be fermented or aged in oak barrels?

They also make a blend (meritage maybe?) called Cougar Pass that is pretty good if memory serves...
