- Skeeter - 08-10-2003

Picked up a bottle of the new release Sav Blanc today to share with family. (NZ$20)

Intense passionfruit-like aromas on opening. (Picked up by the wife, who was standing nearby.) Similar passionfruit/lime flavours, along with some typical SB gooseberry.. and, with the not-overpowering acidity, an almost kiwifruit-like character. (To me, anyway.) Nice length on the finish and incredibly more-ish. Liked by all three people who drunk it, it's at LEAST the equal of the '02.

Skeeters tasting Notes say: Another winner from Wither Hills!

(Bonus TN: The wine was slightly overpowered by a parmesan-laced pizza. So I had a small glass of the 2002 Corbans White Label Shiraz: (NZ winery, Australian grapes.) Not too oaky, pronounced black pepper flavours, medium length. Nothing wrong with this one as a quaffer.)
