I went to Hilltop House for lunch Saturday and decided to take advantage of their three-wine flight for $15.00 (3-oz. pours and you decide on your own flight from wines available by the glass.) I was having a chicken salad croissant with caesar salad as the side dish and starting with:

2009 Chateau Gaboron Sauvignon Bland--This was my favorite of the three and I think also the least expensive by the glass. Green-tinged gold color; mixture of grapefruit, lemon and pear scents. Flavorful and rich on the palate with plentiful acid. Nice.

2009 S.A. Prum Riesling--muted nose. Pale straw color. Apple flavor. Tastes dry or only slightly off dry but a bit bland. However, it did pair fairly well with the chicken salad croissant.

2008 McManis Viognier, California. Longer finish than I expected. A touch of white pepper or ginger spice. Lacking any defined apricot or peach flavors.
