Here's a super wine and a great summer sipping and summer dinner companion!

1997 Elizabeth Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc; Redwood Valley, Mendocino County - $12.50

Typical brassy color. Intense nose with vibrant pink grapefruit, apple, cat pee and a touch of melon. On the palate, a big splash loaded with gobs of juicy fruit kept neatly in check with a zesty, citrusy finish. Well integrated and very friendly and approachable. An impossible wine not to like. Highly recommeded. Would be perfect with a Boston baked schrod or a cold cucumber salad.

Did'nt know she made a SB, have tasted her Zin at Florida Winefest two years ago (very impressive, softer, big berry style). I will try to find some SB.....

Rick -

I've had their Zin too and it's good but has a bit too much oak for my palate.

I really prefer wines that allow me to get the character of the fruit as opposed to having too much oak.

This SB is absolutely fruit driven though and easily the best SB I've had in some time.

Good luck finding it! It'll be worth it.
