This was one that everyone was looking forward to....and what did it taste like?

Wellllll.....really like a tawny port. I was so surprised. Perhaps a bit thinner than a good tawny but not bad. Nice wood flavors with a good alcohol kick. There is very little left of the Shiraz that it started out as. I think you would be hard pressed to blind taste it and tell that it was not a typical tawny port. Deep Tawny in color, it even looked the part. I guess that's why it left me wanting in a way. I wanted to see what a Shiraz would look like as a tawny port, see some of that gameyness come through... In the end a really neat drink, but not one that differentiated itself and rather slotted itself neatly as an imitation tawny. Now ultimately why would I want to buy that?
