- brappy - 01-05-2008 I called Hattie on the way home and asked if she had made dinner. She let me know I was on my own. So, after a small snack of veggies and tzatziki sauce, I decided it was too late to eat anything more substantial. I thought some cheese would be good but then looked in the freezer real quick on the off chance there might be something to eat. My eyes took a hard look at some Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream. How could I not? I then opened a 1979 Don PX Grand Reserva (Bodegas Toro Albala). Wow... Wow. What a pair. the nuttiness of this sherry with the brownies in the ice cream...... And dinner is served. Hattie thinks my dinner choice is funny.... What does she know?!? I would have settled on a Banyuls, or pulled a chilled bottle of Gruet Demi Sec. Good choice, sir! - winoweenie - 01-05-2008 Makes me tired ole taste-buds tingle jes thinking about it Brapster. WW - copperriver - 03-11-2008 If you think that is a good combo... try the PB&J.....same wine, the PX and pair it with peanut butter ice cream.....the duo plays off each other rather well.
