- Skeeter - 10-02-2003 This is less of a TN than a "Brag Note"... as I doubt there's going to be an awfully large amount of this left to buy. (It is in fact on the Coopers Creek websites "Rare" list http://www.cooperscreek.co.nz/rare_wine/rare_wine.php) I found this with just two of its siblings at the Auckland Winemakers Center for the staggering price of NZ$23. (Light coating of dust included.) Beautiful bronzey-gold colour in the glass, definately the deepest hue of any sticky I've tried so far. Lots of honey and apricots on both the nose and tongue, and in a word, delicious. Haven't tried it with the "control dessert" , but rest assured I will soon. Here's the bottle shot: http://www.cooperscreek.co.nz/rare_wine/info.php?wineid=12&PHPSESSID=19adceaaa86d824b00a8f173e0d1a640&PHPSESSID=19adceaaa86d824b00a8f173e0d1a640 (Now that's some address, huh? Can I use HTML on this board, anyone?) And the bonus for me... the store owner told me he's hoping to DOUBLE his already large (20+ label) range of dessert wines. I sense a kindered spirit. Skeeters Tasting Notes Say: Okay, maybe this "cellaring" thing is a good thing, after all. - winoweenie - 10-02-2003 Tis amazing how a few whiskers can improve even one of them sweet SWs'. Down to about 5 bottles of 83 German Eisweins. Killer juice. WW - Georgie - 10-02-2003 Yum-yumm! Sounds like something I'd love! I am quite jealous! |
