- barnesy - 11-20-2004 Very fruity on the first day. On the second day, the nose opened up into intense spice, date/raisin, cinnamon. Same on the palate. A little thin on the mouthfeel. Nice port to start off the 6 months of rain showers Portland will be receiving, i.e. winter. Have a Taylor fladgate lbv 99 I am looking forward to. Drank way too many bottles of their 94. Barnesy - Glass_A_Day - 12-11-2004 I just picked up a bottle of this too in a mixed case of LBV's. I am currently on the Martinez, but will pop this one next. - Thomas - 12-11-2004 I hear from port experts that 1999 was a spectacular vintage, and after tasting Offley 1999 LBV, I concur, at least from that producer. So your 99 should be wonderful. The 1999 LBV that seems to have gotten the highest accolades is my very own favorite producer: Niepoort. |
