flinty


A sharp, sometimes metallic tang, or a cold, austere perfume, which is sometimes noticed in very dry white wines. The wines of the upper Loire in France (Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé) and drier wines from Germany’s Moselle sometimes display this characteristic.
