Black Currants

Black currants are dark purple berries. Sweet, sharp, and astringent, they add a liveliness to yogurts, teas, juices, and liqueur. In wines, the taste or smell of black currants is often referred by the term cassis. This smell is often associated with wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon.
