Long Island

Long Island is New York state’s newest wine region. The first winery was established only in 1973, but today the region is home to 15 wineries and about 1,000 acres of classic European grapes such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Long Island’s maritime climate and growing conditions are very similar to those of Bordeaux, France, and Long Island’s vintners have quickly gained international attention for the quality of their wines.
