The Wrotham Pinot Story

The grapevines that produce Wrotham Pinot grapes are descendents of ancient vines planted by Roman armies occupying the British Isles over 2000 years ago. The mother vine was discovered growing wild in Wrotham, England. Imported to the Napa Valley by one of California's most respected winemakers, Dr. Richard Grant Peterson, small vine cuttings were painstakingly grown into a small vineyard. Naturally immune to disease, the vines have never been sprayed with chemicals. The result is one of the most elegant, smooth and delicious sparkling wines we have ever tasted.

Exceptional Flavor and Classic Refinement

Wrotham Pinot's varietal heritage provides the sturdy structure and body of a classic Blanc de Noir. Aging four years on the lees, en tirage, has given the wine both excellent flavor and refinement. A rich apple-like fruit structure is enhanced with sensous undertones of citrus, making it crisp and refreshing, yet never tart.

The color is a beautifully clear rose-petal pink. The bubbles are fine and lively. The impression on the palate is that of an absolutely delicious wine. A toasty, fresh aroma rounds out the vibrant fruit flavor and adds a fragrance that is irresistible. The aftertaste leaves a delicate impression of Brioche.
