Where do you ship?

At the present time, shipments are limited to the continental 48 states and Canada. Shipments to other countries can be arranged by special request. Contact Us for more information.

 


Do I pay sales tax?

Sales tax is not applied to orders from customers outside the state of California.

California residents pay 7.65% sales tax.

 


What is the minimum online order amount?

Our online store is set up to accept a minimum order of $30.00.

Smaller orders can be placed by email or telephone at (510)-581-1104. Please note that shipping cannot be expedited for any order under $30.00. Send email to customerservice@wines.com with your request and a phone number where we can contact you.


Is there a handling charge?

There is a handling charge of $5.00 per order for all orders.

*Items over 40 lbs (refrigeration equipment, wine cellars, etc.) may be subject to a shipping surcharge. Please call (510) 581-1104 for a more information.


How long does shipping take?

Orders received by 12 noon (Pacific Time) or 3 pm (Eastern Time) are usually shipped within two business days (48 hours). Orders received after 12 noon are usually shipped within three business days (72 hours).

Every effort will be made to expedite orders during the holiday season. All orders are shipped by UPS. We urge customers to order early to avoid any shipping delays that may occur during the holiday season.


How are shipping charges calculated?

Shipping charges are based on UPS ground and UPS air service shipping charges.

Large items wieghing over 50 pounds (such as wine cellars, refrigeration equipment, etc) are subject additional shipping charges. Please call (510) 581-1104 for quote.


What is your return policy?

RETURN POLICY: We accept returns for store credit of the purchase price less shipping if the item is returned unused and in its original condition, and the return is received by WINES.COM within 30 days of initial delivery. We suggest that you obtain insurance when returning a package, as we cannot be responsible for returned packages lost in the mail. Please allow 7-10 business days for your credit to be processed.

Please note that items marked "FINAL SALE" are not returnable.

Returned unclaimed packages: If an order is returned to us by the postal service as "unclaimed" or "refused", the customer has either the option of having the item reshipped at their cost (actual expense), being issued a store credit, or being issued a refund, less a 20% restocking fee.

 


What is your privacy policy?

The short answer is that we do not disclose, sell or share your personal information with any other entity or company.

The information available to a website falls roughly into two categories, information provided explicitly by you and information provided by your computer or Internet browser. Our use of this information is described below.

Information provided explicitly by you, the visitor:
Generally this involves filling out forms so you can request a catalog or order a WINES.COM product. We need your:

  • Name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
  • Credit card number and expiration date if you place an order.
If you order a product from WINES.COM, your information will be put in our internal customer database. No names from this database are traded or sold to other companies.

Information provided by your computer or Internet Browser:

Your Internet address (IP address) is used to help us identify your browser (not your personal identity) and to help us know how information should be routed back to your computer.

If you have disabled the accepting cookies function in your browser, the shopping cart may not work correctly. An indication that this function has been disabled is a message that states your cart is empty even after you've attempted to add a product to your order. To correct this, you must enable the acceptance of cookies on your browser's option screen. In all cases, information provided by your browser or computer is used to maintain session contacts with you, and is not used for any other purpose.

WINES.COM can be contacted by email at customerservice@wines.com. We read every message that comes to us. We try to respond within 48 hours of its receipt. We DO save messages we think might be needed if the customer were to contact us again. We DO NOT sell or give out any of our customer data to any other individual or company. If you should have any questions, please contact us and we will make sure your questions or comments get to the right person.
