leaf pulling

A selective stripping of the vine canopy to facilitate air circulation and sun exposure to the grape clusters. This opening up of the canopy makes it much easier to control mildew. It also improves bud fruitfulness for the subsequent year, and last but not any less important, it makes it easier to pick the fruit.
