The gradual process of bringing red wine to room temperature. It should be remembered that in France "room temperature" is between 65-68øF. American rooms tend to be slightly warmer, 68-72øF being the norm. It is the suggestion of many wine experts that red wines, in many cases, be drunk at "room temperature," which refers to the French room.
